Turkey welcomed the OECD’s decision

Turkey welcomes the decision of the Board of governors of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to start membership negotiations with Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Peru and Romania.The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement on the decision taken by the OECD Council at its meeting on 25 January to open membership negotiations with the six candidate countries.The statement noted that Turkey welcomed the decision and stressed that as a founding member of the OECD, Turkey attaches great importance to the dissemination of the CORE values and principles of the OECD as well as the inclusive and sustainable development goals.As THE OECD opens accession negotiations with the six countries and carries out the necessary reforms Turkey will continue to provide the necessary support in the process of compliance with OECD standards and instruments.
